Portia Lee James DeGeneres (also also known as Portia de Rossi) is a known Australian as well as an American actor, model and philanthropist. In the year 15 she changed her legal name by adopting the Italian title "de Rossi" that was fashionable. She took the name "Portia" of Shakespeare's performance of The Merchant of Venice. Portia is convinced that it's the most outrageous thing she's ever done. The actress said her personal struggle with her sexuality was the reason that prompted her to decide. Portia began her career in the film industry with a romantic comedy drama titled 'Sirens' where she was a part of the cast alongside Hugh Grant. In addition, she appeared in a variety of American TV shows and films like Too Something, Nick Freno, Licensed Teacher, Arrested Development, and, Better Off Ted.
